BBP-626 Broad Bandpass Filter

BBP-626 delivers a high-throughput red window (~93–97 % T from ~560–700 nm) with near-baseline leakage across most of VIS–NIR—ideal for bright red imaging and illumination.

  • Main passband (T): ~93–97 % T @ 560 – 700 nm
  • Cut-on / cut-off: Steep edges near ~540 nm and ~720 nm
  • Out-of-band (VIS/NIR): ~0–1 % T across ~300 – 520 nm and ~750 – 1050 nm
  • SWIR tail: ~10–15 % T by ~1200 nm (optional extra blocking)
  • Ghost control: Optional rear AR and slight wedge available
  • Substrates: Borofloat®, Eagle XG, D263 T (≤ 450 °C), soda-lime (≤ 150 °C)
  • Size / thickness: 5 – 450 mm • 0.21 – 3.8 mm (custom cut & dicing)

BBP-626 is a red visible bandpass centred around ~626 nm, delivering ~93–97 % transmission across a broad ~560–700 nm window with steep edges that suppress adjacent wavelengths. Outside the main passband, transmission stays near baseline (~0–1 %) across most of ~300–520 nm and ~750–1050 nm, improving contrast under broadband illumination.

Note for SWIR-sensitive detectors: transmission can rise again beyond ~1.1 µm and reach ~10–15 % by ~1.2 µm. If your sensor responds there, KUPO can add an additional blocking stack to fully suppress the SWIR tail.

Typical uses: red illumination for machine vision, capturing red fluorescence emission bands, broad red channels in multispectral systems, reflectance/absorption photometry, and stray-light control in optical instruments. KUPO supplies rear-surface AR, slight wedge, and rapid custom cutting—from small test chips to 450 mm plates—on high-temperature glass (Borofloat®, Eagle XG, D263 T) or economical soda-lime.

Description

BBP-626 is a red visible bandpass filter centred around ~626 nm. It delivers a broad, high transmission window of about ~93–97% across roughly ~560–700 nm, with steep edges that quickly suppress out-of-band light. Outside the main passband, transmission stays near the baseline across most of ~300–520 nm and ~750–1050 nm (generally ~0–1% T). The spectrum shows a small rise again beyond ~1.1 µm, reaching roughly ~10–15% T by ~1.2 µm, which is worth noting for SWIR-sensitive detectors.

Key advantages

  • High 626 nm throughput: ~93–97% T through the main red band for efficient illumination and imaging.

  • Broad band selection: Wide passband (~560–700 nm) delivers higher signal while still limiting unwanted colours.

  • Steep band edges: Rapid cut-on and cut-off around the ~540 nm and ~720 nm regions for clean separation.

  • Low out-of-band leakage (VIS–NIR): Near-baseline transmission across most of ~300–520 nm and ~750–1050 nm reduces background and improves contrast.

  • SWIR leakage awareness: Transmission rises beyond ~1.1 µm and can reach ~10–15% by ~1.2 µm; extra blocking can be added if required.

  • Production-ready build: Durable dielectric coating; optional rear-surface anti-reflection and slight wedge available to suppress ghosts/flare.

  • Custom formats: Borofloat®, Eagle XG or D263 T (0.21–3.8 mm) for high-temp use to ~450 °C; economical soda-lime for ≤150 °C. Custom sizes 5–450 mm.

Typical applications

  • Red illumination and imaging: Improve contrast for machine vision and inspection where red-channel performance matters.

  • Fluorescence and bio-imaging: Capture red emission bands while suppressing excitation and ambient spill.

  • Colour channel separation: Broad red channel for multi-spectral imaging and calibration.

  • Photometry and sensing: High-throughput red band for reflectance/absorption measurements.

  • Optical instruments: Stray-light control and spectral selection in analyzers and imaging optics.
