CTB-010 is a blue-balancing (CTB) broadband filter with a stronger cool-shift than CTB-009. Transmission peaks at ~93–96% around 420–440 nm, drops to ~52–55% near 500–520 nm, rises slightly to ~58–60% around 610–630 nm, then falls toward the red to ~34–38% by ~780 nm. The result is a pronounced cool-tone correction with a moderate overall loss (mid-band ≈0.3 OD; deep-red ≈0.45 OD).
Key advantages
-
Stronger blue lift — emphasises 420–460 nm for a decisive move toward daylight.
-
Controlled red trimming — smooth decline from ~630–780 nm cools warm sources without magenta cast.
-
Smooth, low-ripple curve — predictable colourimetry; no narrow notches or banding.
-
Manageable attenuation — ~50–60% through the mid-band preserves output while reshaping spectrum.
-
Built to last — durable optical coating for stage, field, and lab use.
-
Custom formats — Borofloat®, Eagle XG, or D263 T (0.21–3.8 mm) for high-temp duty to ~450 °C; soda-lime for ≤150 °C. Sizes 5–450 mm; optional rear-surface AR and slight wedge to suppress ghosts.
Typical applications
-
Lighting colour correction — push tungsten/halogen or warm LED toward ~5600 K daylight.
-
Cameras & cinema — pre-filter for consistent white balance with less in-camera correction.
-
Architectural & display lighting — crisper whites in retail, museums, and exhibits.
-
Machine vision & inspection — boost blue-weighted contrast while keeping broadband output.
-
Projectors & light engines — spectral shaping with a reasonable brightness trade-off.
