CTO-054 delivers a +131 Mired shift to move 5600 K light toward 3200 K. Its smooth spectral slope creates a natural warming effect, with about 45.1 % average visible transmittance and approximately 1.5 stops of light loss.

The ion-assisted hard-oxide coating is built for repeated handling, heat, and cleaning.

Best suited for:

Full daylight-to-tungsten conversion on HMI or daylight LED fixtures, mixed-light interiors, and scenes that need a strong warm match.

Description

CTO-054 is a sharp-edged deep orange-red longpass with its 50 % crossover at 621 nm and excellent NIR performance. UV-blue is well suppressed, with a blocking notch at 436-473 nm (T < 5 %), and green averages just 14.5 %. Above the transition, transmission rises steeply to 85 % by 653 nm, reaching a peak of 96.4 % at 745 nm. NIR averages an exceptional 94.7 %. The clean, steep transition and high plateau make CTO-054 one of the most efficient deep-red longpass CTOs in the series.

Key Advantages

  • Steep 50 % crossover at 621 nm with T > 85 % by 653 nm - delivers a sharp transition into the deep orange-red passband with rapid rise to full throughput.
  • Peak of 96.4 % at 745 nm with NIR avg 94.7 % - provides the highest red-NIR efficiency of any deep CTO in the series.
  • Deep blue blocking (T < 5 % at 436-473 nm) - cleanly removes the blue peak of LED sources.
  • Hard-oxide durability - ion-assisted coating resists heat, humidity, solvents, and cleaning.
  • Custom formats available - round, square, or free-form blanks from 5 mm to 450 mm, thickness 0.21-3.8 mm, on Borofloat®, soda-lime, Schott D263 T, or Corning Eagle XG substrates.

Typical Applications

  • Stage and concert lighting - creates a deep, saturated orange-red wash with steep edge definition and maximum output efficiency.
  • Film and broadcast heavy CTO - provides strong daylight-to-tungsten conversion with a clean, professional spectral profile.
  • Machine vision and sensing - functions as a high-performance 620 nm longpass for red-NIR wavelength-selective imaging.
  • Biomedical and tissue imaging - passes the therapeutic window (> 620 nm) for deep-tissue penetration while blocking shorter scattering wavelengths.
  • Horticultural far-red supplementation - delivers the red and far-red bands essential for phytochrome-mediated flowering and growth regulation.
