Medium-band green filter (490 – 583 nm, > 90 % T) with sub-1 % leakage in UV/blue and red, and no appreciable IR tail.
G8916 delivers a broad, flat window around the peak human-eye response
while dumping spill on both sides. Transmission jumps above 90 % near
490 nm, stays there to ~583 nm, and collapses under one percent by
~622 nm. Below 465 nm it is also under one percent, save for a minor
< 8 % ripple near 393 nm that KUPO can flatten on request. Off-band
blocking continues out to 760 nm, where only a gentle tail stays below five
percent—keeping cameras, spectrometers, and audiences free of glare.
KUPO coats Borofloat®, soda-lime, Schott D263 T, or Corning Eagle XG substrates
cut to any outline—from 5 mm chips to 450 mm plates—with thicknesses of
0.21 – 3.8 mm, and can ship prototypes in about two weeks.
Typical uses: FITC-style fluorescence excitation, green-LED machine vision,
RGB laser/LED projection, discrete green channels in multispectral cameras,
saturated stage or architectural lighting, and AR/HUD waveguides that need bright
green injection without UV/IR heat.
G8916 is a medium-band green filter that passes a broad, flat window around the peak human-eye response while dumping both shorter-wave and longer-wave spill. Transmission jumps above 90 % near 490 nm, stays above that level through roughly 583 nm, and then collapses to < 1 % by ~622 nm. Below 465 nm it also sits below 1 %, aside from a narrow bumps near 393 nm (~5 %) that can be levelled on request. The result is a vivid, glare-free green channel with excellent off-band isolation and no appreciable IR leakage.
Key advantages
Broad > 90 % passband (490 – 583 nm) – Ensures high brightness and faithful green colour rendition.
Deep blocking outside band – < 1 % T from 400 – 465 nm and 622 – 760 nm keeps sensors free of UV/blue noise and red flare.
Hard-oxide durability – Ion-beam-assisted layers withstand heat, humidity and aggressive cleaning.
Custom sizes & substrates – Round, square or free-form parts from 5 mm to 450 mm, 0.21 – 3.8 mm thick, on Borofloat®, soda-lime, Schott D263 T or Corning Eagle XG glass.
Typical applications
Fluorescence excitation (FITC, GFP) – Isolates the green pump band while suppressing autofluorescence and IR.
Machine-vision illumination – Pairs with green LEDs/lasers to maximise SNR in reflective inspections.
Laser-phosphor & RGB-LED projectors – Channels green primaries cleanly with minimal spectral crosstalk.
Multispectral & hyperspectral cameras – Provides a discrete green channel for vegetation and colour indexing.
Stage & architectural lighting – Creates saturated green washes or beams that stay bright without overheating gels.
AR waveguides & HUDs – Injects eye-safe green imagery with negligible thermal load on the substrate.
