Description

The R2714 passes the deep red and near-infrared spectrum with its 50 % cut-on at 621.1 nm. Transmission averages above 94 % from 626 to 780 nm, peaking at 95.4 % near 722 nm. The blocking floor is exceptionally deep at 0.2 % average from 380 to 609 nm, providing OD 2.7+ rejection of the entire visible spectrum from UV through orange. This filter is positioned to isolate the red-NIR window just above the orange-red boundary.

Key Advantages

  • 621 nm cut-on for red-NIR pass - T50 % at 621.1 nm isolates the deep-red and NIR spectrum, blocking UV through orange.
  • Ultra-deep 0.2 % blocking - Average transmission just 0.2 % from 380 to 609 nm delivers OD 2.7+ rejection.
  • 95.4 % peak with > 94 % average - Flat passband across 154 nm of red-to-NIR bandwidth.
  • Hard-oxide durability - Ion-assisted sputtered coating withstands thermal cycling, humidity, and aggressive cleaning protocols.
  • Custom formats - Round, square, or free-form blanks from 5 mm to 450 mm, thickness 0.21-3.8 mm, on Borofloat, soda-lime, Schott D263 T, or Corning Eagle XG substrates.

Typical Applications

  • Far-red fluorescence collection - Passes Cy5, Alexa 647, and far-red protein emission while blocking all shorter excitation wavelengths.
  • Red LED isolation - Passes 625-660 nm red LED emission for machine vision while eliminating scattered ambient light.
  • Solar cell characterization - Defines the red-NIR portion of the solar spectrum for band-gap analysis of photovoltaic materials.
  • Medical phototherapy monitoring - Passes the therapeutic red-NIR window (625-780 nm) for photobiomodulation dosimetry.
  • Covert NIR imaging - Blocks visible light while passing red and NIR for surveillance and driver-assistance systems.
