Description

The Y1002 sets its 50 % cut-on at 489.4 nm, blocking UV, violet, and deep blue while transmitting from cyan through the near-infrared with average throughput above 94 %. The passband runs from approximately 496 nm to 780 nm with a peak of 95.4 % near 663 nm. Blocking is solid, holding below 1 % from 380 to 472 nm. This filter cleanly separates cyan-onset wavelengths from shorter blue energy.

Key Advantages

  • 489 nm cut-on for cyan-edge pass - T50 % at 489.4 nm positions the transition right at the blue-cyan boundary, passing cyan through NIR.
  • Peak 95.4 % with flat passband - Average transmission above 94 % from 496 to 780 nm with minimal ripple across the entire window.
  • OD 2+ UV-blue blocking - Transmission under 0.4 % from 380 to 472 nm rejects UV and violet without leakage.
  • Hard-oxide durability - Ion-assisted sputtered coating withstands thermal cycling, solvent exposure, and repeated cleaning.
  • Custom formats - Round, square, or free-form blanks from 5 mm to 450 mm, thickness 0.21-3.8 mm, on Borofloat, soda-lime, Schott D263 T, or Corning Eagle XG glass.

Typical Applications

  • GFP emission filtering - Passes GFP and FITC emission (500+ nm) while blocking 488 nm laser excitation and shorter wavelengths.
  • Colorimetric analysis - Defines a cyan-to-NIR detection window for spectrophotometers analyzing warm-toned samples.
  • Marine & underwater optics - Passes the cyan-green light that penetrates seawater while blocking UV scatter.
  • Agricultural remote sensing - Captures green, red, and NIR reflectance for vegetation health indices while rejecting UV-blue atmospheric scatter.
  • Projection optics - Splits the warm half of the visible spectrum from the cool half in projection color management systems.
