Description

HM-710 is a broad-band hot-mirror that passes most of the visible range (420 – 700 nm) at > 90 % while dumping NIR heat beyond 760 nm to < 1 % T. The steep 10 %-to-90 % roll-off (< 25 nm) protects sensors, optics and film from IR flare without dimming-out colour balance, making it ideal for digital imaging, projection and high-intensity lighting. We deposit the coating on flat, low-stress glass that we custom-cut from 5 mm to 450 mm (0.21 – 3.8 mm thick) in Borofloat®, Eagle XG, ultra-thin D263 T or soda-lime so you can match weight, thermal and budget targets with a single part number.

Key advantages

  • > 90 % VIS throughput – true-to-life colour and maximum luminous efficiency.

  • Deep IR blocking – < 1 % T 760 – 1100 nm eliminates thermal bloom on sensors and dichroic cold mirrors.

  • Ultrafast edge (≈ 25 nm) – minimal colour shift, easy white-balance.

  • MIL-M-13508C-grade durability – plasma-enhanced oxide stack resists humidity, abrasion and solder-reflow rework.

Typical applications

  • Digital & analogue projectors – reflect lamp/laser IR back to the integrator while passing VIS to the engine.

  • CMOS/CCD camera windows – keep heat off the sensor to reduce dark current and noise.

  • Architectural & museum lighting – protect artwork and plastics from IR degradation without altering CCT.

  • Endoscopy & biomedical optics – isolate white-light illumination from NIR diagnostic channels.

  • Laser-phosphor systems – block 808–940 nm pump light while delivering visible output.
