UV-blue short-pass filter transmitting > 90 % from 410 – 485 nm and diving below 0.5 % past 520 nm for pure, flare-free blue illumination.
B19506 opens a bright UV-blue window, climbing above 80 % by 400 nm and
stabilising at 92–94 % across 410 – 485 nm. Just past 500 nm, transmission
plummets below one percent and holds at detector-noise levels out to
780 nm, with only minor ripples under three percent that can be fully
suppressed in custom builds. The ion-assisted hard-oxide stack shrugs off
heat, humidity and solvents, while KUPO can shift edges, supply 45 ° AOI
versions, or deliver large-format plates in as little as two weeks.
Typical uses: fluorescence microscopy & cytometry, blue-LED curing
and lithography, high-contrast machine-vision lighting, blue-pumped
spectroscopy or Raman, and AR/VR waveguide injection.
B19506 delivers a crisp UV-blue window while silencing nearly the entire mid-visible through near-infrared range. Transmission climbs above 80 % by 400 nm, reaches a flat 92–94 % plateau from roughly 410 nm to 485 nm, and then plunges below 1 % just past 500 nm. From 520 nm out to 780 nm the filter holds at detector-noise levels, save for a few narrow ripples (<3 % T) near 630 nm, 690 nm, and 750 nm that can be suppressed in custom builds. The result is strong, colour-pure blue light with excellent rejection of green, red, and IR energy.
Key advantages
Bright UV-blue passband – >90 % transmission across 410–485 nm maximises excitation or inspection signal.
Ultra-steep 500 nm cutoff – ~10 nm edge cleanly separates blue from green for precise colour control.
Deep out-of-band blocking – <0.5 % transmission from 520 nm to 780 nm protects sensors from flare and heat.
Low ripple floor – Minor side peaks stay below 3 %; zero-ripple versions available on request.
Hard-oxide durability – Ion-assisted coating resists heat, humidity, solvents, and repeated wipe-downs.
Rapid custom options – Edge shifts, 45 ° AOI designs, or large-format plates ship in as little as two weeks.
Typical applications
Fluorescence microscopy & cytometry – Cleanly excite CFP/FITC lines while dumping visible emissions.
Blue-LED curing & lithography – Pass 405 nm light for photoresists while blocking red and IR heat.
Machine-vision illumination – Pair with 450 nm LED bars to heighten contrast on plastic, textile, or security inks.
Spectroscopy & Raman – Isolate blue pump beams for better baseline stability and SNR.
AR/VR optics – Inject vivid blue content into waveguides without polluting the green-red channels.
