CTB-009 is a blue-balancing (CTB) broadband filter with a stronger cool-shift than CTB-008. Transmission peaks at ~84–86% around 430–440 nm, then rolls down through green to ~50% near 540–600 nm, holding ~47–50% across much of the mid-band and recovering to ~56–60% by ~780 nm. The result is a clear, predictable cool-tone correction with moderate overall loss (mid-band ≈ 0.3 OD).
Key advantages
-
Blue-weighted transmission — lifts 430–470 nm to push warm sources toward daylight.
-
Green/yellow moderation — smooth falloff through 520–620 nm reduces warmth without a magenta cast.
-
Smooth, low-ripple curve — stable colourimetry; no narrow notches or banding.
-
Moderate attenuation — ~50% mid-band keeps output usable while shaping the spectrum.
-
Built to last — durable optical coating for stage, field, and lab use.
-
Custom formats — Borofloat®, Eagle XG, or D263 T (0.21–3.8 mm) for high-temp duty to ~450 °C; soda-lime for ≤150 °C. Sizes 5–450 mm; optional rear-surface AR and slight wedge to suppress ghosts.
Typical applications
-
Lighting colour correction — cool tungsten/halogen or warm LED toward 5600 K daylight.
-
Cameras & cinema — pre-filter for consistent white balance with less in-camera correction.
-
Architectural & display lighting — deliver crisper whites in retail, museums, and exhibits.
-
Machine vision & inspection — boost blue-weighted contrast while keeping broadband output.
-
Projectors & light engines — spectral shaping with a manageable brightness penalty.
