HMG-5 is a minus-green (magenta-balance) broadband filter that cleans up LED/fluorescent green spill while keeping scene brightness and colour fidelity high. Transmission sits around ~92–95% across the blue and long-red bands (~430–500 nm and ~600–740 nm), with a gentle minus-green notch of ~77–80% centred near ~540–550 nm (effective over ~520–570 nm). The curve stays smooth and neutral, with a natural roll-off toward the far-red edge (~770–780 nm).
Key advantages
-
Minus-green tuning — controlled attenuation across ~520–570 nm removes “plus-green” without pushing magenta too far.
-
High overall transmission — ~92–95% T in the blue and long-red preserves output, contrast and saturation.
-
Smooth, low-ripple curve — predictable colour moves across dimming levels and fixture types.
-
Built for production — hard dielectric stack resists abrasion and humidity; optional rear-surface AR and slight wedge suppress ghosts/flare.
-
Custom formats — Borofloat®, Eagle XG or D263 T (0.21–3.8 mm) for high-temp use to ~450 °C; economical soda-lime for ≤150 °C. Custom sizes 5–450 mm.
Typical applications
-
Cinema/TV lighting — raise TLCI/CRI by trimming green while keeping natural reds and blues.
-
Photography & events — cleaner skin tones and neutral whites under mixed LED/fluorescent rigs.
-
Retail, museum & hospitality — correct greenish ambience to present true product and artwork colour.
-
Architectural & display — tune off-the-shelf luminaires for warmer, premium colour.
-
Machine vision — balance channels where the green band overwhelms red-critical features.
