BMS-006 Beam Splitter

BMS-006 is a UV-trimmed, colour-neutral VIS beamsplitter (≈T50/R50). It rises quickly at the blue edge, then holds ~48–52 % T from ~430–650 nm, followed by a smooth red lift to ~60–64 % T by ~780–800 nm—yielding two clean, true-colour paths with only a slight transmit-side preference in the deep red.

  • Passband: ~430 – 650 nm (VIS core), ~48–52 % T; smooth red lift to ~60–64 % by 780–800 nm
  • VIS split ratio: ~48–52 % T / ~48–52 % R (≈50/50)
  • UV behaviour: Strong suppression < ~360–380 nm; steep blue-edge turn-on
  • Spectral flatness: Low ripple across VIS; calibration-friendly curve
  • Construction: Hard dielectric stack on Borofloat®, Eagle XG, D263 T, or soda-lime
  • Custom sizes: 5 – 450 mm • 0.21 – 3.8 mm; rear-surface AR & slight wedge options

The neutral mid-band split of BMS-006 keeps exposure and colour closely matched, while the steep UV cutoff reduces fluorescence and sensor haze. The gentle red tilt above ~700 nm boosts transmit-side energy for photodiodes and feedback taps without tinting mid-band colour.

Typical applications • Machine-vision taps (constant-ratio sampling without UV-induced noise) • Projector/light-engine power & colour feedback • Microscopy/biomedical epi-illumination pick-offs • Optical viewfinders & director’s feeds • Interferometers and beam diagnostics needing stable 50/50 splits.

Typical spectral behaviour (T-path) — 430–650 nm: ~48–52 % T (flat) • 700–800 nm: smooth rise to ~60–64 % T • < ~360–380 nm: strong UV suppression.

Description

BMS-006 is a UV-trimmed, colour-neutral VIS beamsplitter (≈ T50/R50). It rises quickly at the blue edge, then holds a stable ~48–52% transmission from ~430–650 nm, followed by a smooth red lift to ~60–64% T by ~780–800 nm. You get two clean, true-colour paths with only a slight transmit-side preference in the deep red.

Key advantages

  • Neutral mid-band split~T48–52 / R48–52 through the core visible keeps exposure and colour closely matched.
  • Steep UV cutoff – rapid turn-on around ~360–380 nm suppresses deep-UV to reduce fluorescence and sensor haze.
  • Calibration-friendly curvelow ripple across VIS simplifies colourimetry and machine-vision thresholds.
  • Helpful red tilt – gentle rise above ~700 nm boosts transmit-side energy for photodiodes and feedback taps without tinting mid-band colour.
  • Rugged dielectric stack – abrasion and humidity resistant for stage, field, and lab environments.
  • Made to fit – choose Borofloat®, Eagle XG, or D263 T (0.21–3.8 mm) for duty up to ~450 °C, or soda-lime for ≤150 °C. Custom-cut 5–450 mm; options include rear-surface AR and a slight wedge to suppress ghosts.

Typical applications

  • Machine-vision taps – constant-ratio sampling without UV-induced noise.
  • Projectors & light engines – power/colour feedback while keeping optics cool.
  • Microscopy & biomedical – epi-illumination pick-offs with neutral colour in both paths.
  • Cameras & cinema – optical viewfinders and director’s feeds with minimal re-balancing.
  • Metrology & alignment – stable 50/50 splits for interferometers and diagnostics.

Typical spectral behaviour (T-path)
430–650 nm: ~48–52% T (flat) · 700–800 nm: smooth rise to ~60–64% T · <~360–380 nm: strong UV suppression.
