BMS-009 Beam Splitter

BMS-009 is a broadband, colour-neutral VIS beamsplitter (≈T25/R75) that holds ~24–27 % transmission from 400–650 nm, then lifts smoothly to ~30 % near 720 nm and ~45 % by ~800 nm—delivering a bright, high-contrast reflection path and a clean transmit path with minimal colour correction.

  • Passband: 400 – 650 nm (VIS), colour-neutral
  • VIS split ratio: ~24–27 % T / ~73–76 % R (high-contrast)
  • Red tilt: T ~30 % @ ~720 nm; ~45 % @ ~800 nm (smooth)
  • Spectral flatness: Low ripple across VIS for easy calibration & matching
  • Construction: Hard dielectric stack on Borofloat®, Eagle XG, D263 T, or soda-lime (to ~450 °C; ≤150 °C for soda-lime)
  • Custom sizes: 5 – 450 mm • 0.21 – 3.8 mm; rear-surface AR & slight wedge options

Description

BMS-009 is a broadband, colour-neutral VIS beamsplitter (≈T25/R75). It holds ~24–27% transmission from 400–650 nm, then shows a smooth red lift~30% T near 720 nm and ~45% T by ~800 nm. You get a bright, high-contrast reflection path and a clean sampling/transmit path with minimal colour correction.

Key advantages

  • High-contrast split~T24–27 / R73–76 across most of the visible keeps the primary (reflected) channel bright.
  • Controlled red tilt – gentle rise above 700 nm improves photodiode feedback and power pick-offs without tinting mid-band colour.
  • Low ripple – small spectral variation through the VIS simplifies calibration and exposure matching.
  • Rugged dielectric stack – abrasion and humidity resistant for stage, field, and lab use.
  • Made to fitBorofloat®, Eagle XG, or D263 T (0.21–3.8 mm) for high-temp duty to ~450 °C; soda-lime option for ≤150 °C. Custom-cut 5–450 mm; rear-surface AR and slight wedge available to suppress ghosts.

Typical applications

  • Machine-vision taps – send a small, stable percentage to an inspection or logging sensor while preserving the main path.
  • Projectors & light engines – power sampling for colour/brightness feedback loops.
  • Metrology & alignment – beam diagnostics, power pick-offs, interferometer splits.
  • Microscopy & biomedical – epi-illumination sampling without colour cast.
  • Cameras & cinema – optical viewfinders and monitoring where the reflected path must stay bright.

Typical spectral behavior (T-path)
400–650 nm: ~24–27% T (flat) · 700–800 nm: smooth rise to ~45% T · ~320–380 nm: ~22–25% T.
