BBP-850C isolates the 850 nm channel with near-unity transmission (~97–100 % T from 830–900 nm) and near-baseline leakage elsewhere—built for NIR illumination and sensing.
BBP-850C is a high-efficiency near-infrared bandpass centred around 850 nm,
delivering ~97–100 % transmission across ~830–900 nm with steep edges that rapidly suppress
out-of-band light. Outside the main window, transmission stays near baseline (~0–1 %) across
most of the visible and near-IR (300–820 nm and ~920–1200 nm), improving contrast and
reducing sensor bloom under mixed illumination.
Typical uses: 850 nm IR illumination for machine vision and night vision, biometrics/access
control (iris/face), IR beacons and tracking markers, reflectance/absorption photometry, and industrial
inspection where the 850 nm band must remain clean.
KUPO supplies rear-surface AR, slight wedge, and rapid custom cutting—from small test chips to 450 mm
plates—on high-temperature glass (Borofloat®, Eagle XG, D263 T) or economical soda-lime.
BBP-850C is a near-infrared bandpass filter centred around 850 nm. It delivers a high transmission window of roughly ~97–100% from about ~830–900 nm, with steep edges that quickly suppress out-of-band light. Outside the passband, transmission stays near the baseline (generally ~0–1% across most of 300–820 nm and ~920–1200 nm), with only small residual ripples.
Key advantages
High 850 nm throughput: ~97–100% T across ~830–900 nm for efficient 850 nm LED and laser-diode use.
Steep band edges: Rapid cut-on and cut-off around the ~820 nm and ~910 nm regions for clean spectral separation.
Low out-of-band leakage: Near-baseline transmission across the visible and most of the near-IR reduces background and improves contrast.
Stray-light control: Strong rejection outside the passband helps keep sensors from blooming under mixed illumination.
Production-ready build: Durable dielectric coating; optional rear-surface anti-reflection and slight wedge available to suppress ghosts/flare.
Custom formats: Borofloat®, Eagle XG or D263 T (0.21–3.8 mm) for high-temp use to ~450 °C; economical soda-lime for ≤150 °C. Custom sizes 5–450 mm.
Typical applications
850 nm IR illumination: Improve signal-to-background for machine vision and night-vision lighting.
Biometrics and access control: Enhance contrast for iris/face illumination at 850 nm.
IR beacons and tracking: Pass the 850 nm marker band while rejecting visible clutter.
Optical sensing and photometry: Clean 850 nm channel for reflectance and absorption measurements.
Industrial inspection: Reduce broadband glare while preserving the 850 nm working wavelength.
