BBP-905 Bandpass Filter

BBP-905 isolates the 905 nm channel with ~92–95 % peak transmission and near-baseline leakage across VIS–NIR—ideal for ranging, beacons, and outdoor IR systems.

  • Peak transmission: ~92–95 % T near 905 nm
  • Band edges: Steep cut-on/cut-off around ~850–950 nm
  • Out-of-band: ~0–2 % T across 300 – 850 nm and 960 – 1050 nm
  • SWIR tail: ~10–15 % T by ~1200 nm (optional extra blocking)
  • Ghost control: Optional rear AR and slight wedge available
  • Substrates: Borofloat®, Eagle XG, D263 T (≤ 450 °C), soda-lime (≤ 150 °C)
  • Size / thickness: 5 – 450 mm • 0.21 – 3.8 mm (custom cut & dicing)

BBP-905 is a near-infrared bandpass centred on 905 nm, delivering a high transmission window (~92–95 %) with steep edges that rapidly suppress out-of-band light. Outside the passband, transmission remains close to baseline (~0–2 %) across most of the visible and near-IR (300–850 nm and ~960–1050 nm), improving contrast and reducing sensor bloom under mixed illumination.

One note for SWIR-sensitive detectors: transmission can rise again beyond ~1100 nm and reach ~10–15 % by ~1200 nm. If your system responds in that range, KUPO can add an additional blocking stack to fully suppress the tail.

Typical uses: 905 nm illumination for machine vision, time-of-flight and ranging, IR beacons/tracking, reflectance/absorption photometry, and industrial inspection where a clean 905 nm channel is required. KUPO supplies rear-surface AR, slight wedge, and rapid custom cutting—from small test chips to 450 mm plates—on high-temperature glass (Borofloat®, Eagle XG, D263 T) or economical soda-lime.

Description

BBP-905 is a near-infrared bandpass filter centred around 905 nm. It delivers a high transmission window of about ~92–95% in the 900 nm region, with steep edges that quickly suppress out-of-band light. Outside the passband, transmission stays near the baseline across most of 300–850 nm and ~960–1050 nm (generally ~0–2% T), with small residual ripples. The spectrum shows a modest rise again beyond ~1100 nm, reaching roughly ~10–15% T by ~1200 nm, which is worth noting for SWIR-sensitive detectors.

Key advantages

  • High 905 nm throughput: ~92–95% T at the passband peak for efficient 905 nm LED and laser-diode use.

  • Steep band edges: Rapid cut-on and cut-off around the ~850–950 nm region for clean spectral separation.

  • Low out-of-band leakage (VIS–NIR): Near-baseline transmission across most of 300–850 nm and ~960–1050 nm reduces background and improves contrast.

  • SWIR leakage awareness: Transmission rises beyond ~1100 nm and can reach ~10–15% by ~1200 nm; additional blocking can be added if required.

  • Production-ready build: Durable dielectric coating; optional rear-surface anti-reflection and slight wedge available to suppress ghosts/flare.

  • Custom formats: Borofloat®, Eagle XG or D263 T (0.21–3.8 mm) for high-temp use to ~450 °C; economical soda-lime for ≤150 °C. Custom sizes 5–450 mm.

Typical applications

  • 905 nm IR illumination: Improve signal-to-background for machine vision, sensing, and outdoor IR systems.

  • Time-of-flight and ranging: Isolate 905 nm emitters from ambient light for more stable depth/distance measurements.

  • IR beacons and tracking: Pass the 905 nm marker band while rejecting visible clutter.

  • Optical sensing and photometry: Clean 905 nm channel for reflectance and absorption measurements.

  • Industrial inspection: Reduce broadband glare while preserving the 905 nm working wavelength.
