BBP-940 is a near-infrared bandpass filter centred on 940 nm, delivering a high transmission peak (~96–98 %) with steep edges that rapidly suppress out-of-band light. Outside the passband, transmission remains near baseline (typically ~0–1 %) across most of the visible and near-IR (300–900 nm and ~1000–1200 nm), improving contrast and reducing sensor bloom under mixed illumination.

Typical uses: 940 nm IR illumination, time-of-flight and structured light depth systems, biometric illumination (iris/face), IR beacons and tracking markers, and reflectance/absorption photometry where a clean 940 nm channel is required.

KUPO can add rear-surface AR, slight wedge, and custom blocking as needed, supplying everything from small test chips to 450 mm plates on high-temperature glass (Borofloat®, Eagle XG, D263 T) or economical soda-lime.

Description

BBP-940 is a near-infrared bandpass filter centred around 940 nm. It delivers a high transmission peak of about ~96–98% in the 940 nm region, with steep edges that quickly suppress out-of-band light. Outside the passband, transmission stays near the baseline (generally ~0–1% across most of 300–900 nm and ~1000–1200 nm), with only small residual features.

Key advantages

  • High 940 nm throughput: Peaks around ~96–98% T for efficient 940 nm LED and laser-diode use.

  • Steep band edges: Rapid cut-on/cut-off around the 900–1000 nm region for clean spectral separation.

  • Low out-of-band leakage: Near-baseline transmission across the visible and most of the near-IR reduces background and improves contrast.

  • Stray-light control: Strong rejection outside the passband helps keep sensors from blooming under mixed illumination.

  • Production-ready build: Durable dielectric coating; optional rear-surface AR and slight wedge available to suppress ghosts/flare.

  • Custom formats: Borofloat®, Eagle XG or D263 T (0.21–3.8 mm) for high-temp use to ~450 °C; economical soda-lime for ≤150 °C. Custom sizes 5–450 mm, and custom specifications are available.

Typical applications

  • 940 nm IR illumination: Improve signal-to-background for machine vision, night vision, and presence sensing.

  • ToF and structured light: Isolate 940 nm emitters from ambient light for stable depth measurements.

  • Biometric systems: Enhance contrast for iris/face illumination at 940 nm.

  • IR beacons and tracking: Reject visible clutter while passing the 940 nm marker band.

  • Optical sensing and photometry: Clean 940 nm channel for reflectance and absorption measurements.
