BH-A03 Broad Bandpass Filter

Orange-red band-pass: > 90 % T from 605 – 660 nm, < 1 % T everywhere else—delivers razor-saturated amber light while dumping UV, green and NIR clutter.

  • Passband: 90 – 92 % T @ 610–665 nm (colour-pure)
  • UV/Blue block: < 1 % T 395 – 575 nm (optional 390 nm spike flatten)
  • NIR block: < 1 % T 710 – 770 nm (heat relief)
  • Surface: > 10 H IBS oxide; solvent & abrasion safe
  • Wavefront: ≤ 0.25 λ P-V @ 632 nm (fast-lens friendly)
  • Formats: 5 – 450 mm, 0.5 – 3 mm on Borofloat®, silica, soda-lime

BH-A03 carves out a brilliant orange-red window while crushing stray photons on both sides. Transmission vaults past 90 % near 610 nm, stays flat to roughly 665 nm, then dives below 1 % into the green and the near-IR—perfect for isolating DsRed/mCherry emissions, driving 630 nm LED inspection lines, or sculpting saturated amber beams on stage. A small residual bump around 390 nm is typical of dense IBS stacks; KUPO can flatten it with an extra over-coat if absolute UV silence is required.

Ion-beam-sputtered oxide layers deliver > 10 H pencil hardness, shrugging off humidity, solvents, and road-case abuse, while a ≤ 0.25 λ wavefront spec keeps high-NA microscope objectives and fast cinema lenses tack-sharp.

We coat Borofloat®, fused silica, or soda-lime glass in any outline from 5 mm chips to 450 mm plates, 0.5 – 3 mm thick, and ship prototypes in as little as two weeks.

Typical uses: orange-red fluorescence isolation, high-contrast machine-vision lighting, discrete spectral channels in multispectral rigs, laser-based display primaries, and stage/architectural fixtures that need gel-free, heat-resistant colour.

Description

BH-A03 carves out a clean, high-transmission orange-red band while suppressing everything else from the deep-UV through most of the near-IR. Transmission vaults past 90 % near 610 nm, holds 90–92 % across roughly 610 – 665 nm, and then collapses to < 1 % on both sides of the passband. A small residual spike around 390 nm is typical of hard-oxide IBS stacks and can be flattened on request.

Key advantages

  • Bright 605 – 660 nm window – > 90 % peak T delivers saturated orange-red illumination or emission collection.

  • Deep out-of-band blocking – < 1 % T from 395 – 575 nm and 710 – 770 nm prevents crosstalk in multi-channel systems.

  • IBS durability – dense oxide layers resist humidity, abrasion, and > 10 H pencil hardness for field or stage use.

  • Wavefront-friendly – ≤ 0.25 λ P-V @ 632 nm supports fast lenses and high-NA microscope objectives.

  • Custom formats – circular, rectangular, or free-form parts up to 450 mm, 0.5 – 3 mm thick on Borofloat®, fused silica, or soda-lime.

Typical applications

  • Fluorescence & photoluminescence – isolate DsRed/mCherry emissions or excite Cy3 while dumping stray UV and green.

  • Machine-vision illumination – pair with high-power 630 nm LEDs to maximise SNR on reflective or absorptive targets.

  • Spectral imaging & sorting – provide a discrete orange-red channel in multi-camera or filter-wheel rigs.

  • Laser-based displays – cleanly pass 615–640 nm primaries while protecting modulators from UV/IR heat.

  • Stage & architectural lighting – create razor-saturated amber beams that stay bright and cool without gel fade.
